There are add-ons to carry more bikes with the Thule Bed Rider. How many bikes will be determined by the width of the truck bed and the width of the bikes. It's likely that 4 mountain bikes would have handlebar interference if they are all mounted next to each other. This could be alleviated by loosening the stems and turning the handlebars on some of them.
